Crazy How Stuff Like This Happens!

Interesting article piece about how some Canadian high school students were almost involved in a shootout with the police over airsoft guns. In the way this all played out, there's arguments to both sides. Here's the link to the article first, and then my take on the situation.

Toy guns nearly led to shootout (Crazy Canadians!)

For the high schoolers
- They were filming indoors on their own property
- The high schoolers weren't given any kind of warning from the police that they were surrounding the area. The cops said they would have started shooting through the windows if the kids had filmed for half an hour longer. Isn't that a bit overkill??

 For the cops:
- Airsoft in Canada is strictly regulated to clear airsoft (airsoft guns with clear plastic or blaze colored components)
-The part that bewildered me is that the action the police took to mark these airsoft guns as safe was just a $2 registration sticker, which wouldn't have done any good if they were on the airsoft guns when the police officer drove by. Could the cops really see a sticker from that far away through a window anyway?

Even though you can argue both sides, it's still pretty outrageous that stuff like this can happen. I don't even want to imagine how this would've played out if the kids kept filming!

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. Airsoft Guns

Completely agree. I don't understand what the police officer's reasoning for opening up on them without warning would have been.
